about

Rosslyn Castle (and various similar spellings) is a tune associated with Scotland. The most famous property by that name is 9 miles south of Edinburgh dating back to the 14th century. It was rebuilt in 1544 following its destruction in the War of the Rough Wooing – during the English invasion following its break with the Church in Rome. We follow Rosslyn castle with an instrumental version of an aria from Henry Purcell’s opera, Dido and Aeneas (Late c.1678), which Aifric has always loved.
